the title sequence from Casino Royale

The super graphics from Kleinman - same guy who did the last few bond film opening sequences. Worth the price of a ticket just to watch this on the big screen.

ooh - shiny new bond!

saw casino royale on saturday. daniel craig rocks! he is definitely the kind of guy who should be watched in action and not in stills. he has this coiled menace which gets lost in photographs. Killer title sequence- very saul bass-y, and with the gravelly swooping vocals from chris cornell setting off the mood perfectly, it obvious that this isn't the bond of our schooldays.

This is a bond for the mature generation, a more visceral animal who gets his hands dirty (not a tech gadget in sight apart from a couple of sony ericsson/sony product placements gizmos).

so no pics of the man, just of the graphic candy that was the title sequence "you know my name".

pics are (c) IDG (digitmag). See their article here with the title designer Daniel Kleinman.

weekly tv update

caught up on Veronica Mars and CSI yesterday. Waiting for Rat to get back in town to complete House and BSG.
quick thoughts..
i REALLY dont like this season's veronica. not only do i NOT feel for her, i find myself frequently wishing she'd stay off the screen. and while i was so much a logan/veronica fan last year, the magic just isnt there anymore. either the writers are fucking it up for the characters, or kb is losing interest in the character. for what it's worth, i dont think the show is going to have a chance if it continues down this path.

someone on the TWoP board put it well - there's no larger compelling war in her life. nothing seems to matter to her enough, that we feel for her. It's like she's becoming teddy dunn!!!!

so much for the quick thought (read RANT).

CSI - i like this show - it has a formula that worked for 6 years. Dont mess with it. but heard (SPOILER COMING UP) grissom will leave for a while to get back to stage acting (petersen not griss) and some other guy wil taking over. will wait to see before commenting on the potential disasterness of a no-grissom show.

BSG - so much angst for everyone. how long can ronald moore keep this up... i now prefer to read jacob's recaps (twop) than watch the show, to keep me feelng happier and creating some distance. but eagerly awaiting "unfinished business". can't stop the signal.

all that angst and TV = nostalgia => reading old buffy fic... that 'verse had some rockin' writers. looking for other 'verses which boast the same quality fic.

and finally completed backup of the seven ST-TNG seasons. now to complete 5, and start on 6. whooof. long post = painful cast hand. Am off to bed now, tomorrow is here.

here be cherubs...

such a cutie while he sleeps :)

the boy at home, dreaming of his sports meet tomorrow - hoping dad gets back in town in time.

busy day ending bizzy week

so a week later I go back to ortho guy, and now I got another 10 days to go before he takes another x-ray to check if the bone is healing... *flails* It's such a damn nuisance typing/driving/bathing with a p-o-p hand.
Here it is trying to make edits to my blog...
Worse news - if the bone shows any damage, then another three weeks of a cast. Will go for fibre this time, no more heavy p-o-p.
At least now I'm delegating design implementation and concentrating on the concept level.

Got a headhunter call - she wanted my resume. Didnt tell her that I haven't updated mine in over 8 years. Great time for an epiphany like this - all raring to write , but the flesh is weak in plaster!

broke my wrist yesterday.

knew i should never have taken that shower..sigh. Slipped and landed on my right hand. seems the scaphoid bone has broken or cracked. orthopaedic doc says that this bone doesn't show cracks or breaks immediately - takes a week or so before it shows in an xray. so better safe than sorry, wear this nice white heavy plaster.
typing is now tedious (under the influence of painkillers) and painful (if not). Can see my resolution to post frequently is going to be challenge.

Switched

moved to the beta version - and linked this to my gmail account. Noticed that blogger has integrated google's page creator into the template editor. So much easier to use now - more flexibility.

Aqua Boy

The BOY in Goa (Jun 06). Learnt swimming by himself - does a strange doggy paddle thing with head stuck straight up but he moves across a pool width. Has to work on his breathing... note to self: have to find someone who can teach him

luverly, luverly blue.

breathe..

a really hectic thursday. Managing sucks.. tried to get some design work done but spent a total of over 5 hours telling other people what to do or explaining what something was - and about an hour listening to someone else explain something to me.

I have a small brain which swells up as the day progresses - in direct proportion to the amount i have to think. thumping headache, and partly my own fault for eating 5 mints as a time. The menthol is making me feel sick - yuch!!

well - home now to the BOY and CSI. Have to complete season 5 and then switch back to the TNG season 3 i was halfway through. And have the latest House, Vmars and BSG to go through. DROWNING HERE

Why is it so difficult to put a pic in my profile?

There has got to be an easier way to add a picture to my profile than to first post it in my blog and then link to it... or at least that's what I think is the procedure.

Why can't I just upload picture to profile? hmphhh!

so I'm adding this luverly penguin (c) Kabefis (check out the gallery here) to the profile to fill in the empty spaces on my blog (following on resolution to try and maintain this thing for at least two weeks)
Heard somewhere that if you repeat an action regularly at the same time everyday for more than 10 days it becomes a habit...
